Biography

Dr. Tyrone Renard Williams is a worship pastor, music director, ordained minister, and recording artist whose calling has united music and ministry for more than 37 years. A native of Washington, D.C., he is a graduate of the Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts and a recipient of the Duke Ellington Award.

On a music performance scholarship, he attended the College of Wooster where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music, founded and directed the College of Wooster Gospel Choir, and performed with the Wooster Symphony. He went on to complete graduate studies in Jazz Studies and earned a Doctor of Ministry.

Ordained in 1987, Dr. Williams founded Anointed Horn Ministries in 1991. He has released multiple gospel albums and continues to serve as a worship pastor and music director, leading congregations into the presence of God through Spirit-led music and biblical teaching.

He also serves as Co-Director of the Rise Up Music and Arts Academy, investing in the next generation of musicians, worshippers, and creatives. His ministry has carried him across the country and internationally — speaking, ministering, mentoring, and equipping leaders.

Off the platform, Dr. Williams's most cherished assignments are personal: he has been married for 37+ years and is a devoted father and grandfather — a living testimony of the family legacy he ministers from.
